Photography is the art of recording light. And while there will always be instances when you either don't have enough light to take a photograph, or you must add more light with a flash, the most common cause of dark photos is simply that you didn't record the right amount of light. Check out this article on preventing dark photos for information on what causes dark photos. Our August forum theme was a scavenger hunt. Participants had five different items to find and photograph to make up one complete entry. Our winner was chosen from among the complete entries as the best photo. Congrats to Sandi OReilly for this winning image from the "purple" category! We had some really great entries in this competition. Be sure to stop by the forum and view each entry for a real treat. From self portraits to light, our participants really pushed the creative bubble to create some great images. Don't forget our new theme photo contest is underway in the forum.
